Our Services

At Mamadi Advice Centre, we deliver a comprehensive suite of free legal and community-based services designed to protect your rights and empower marginalised groups across Limpopo.

Case Work – Housing & Evictions

We provide personalised support to individuals and families facing housing challenges, including unlawful evictions, disputes over rental agreements and deficiencies in municipal services. Our case workers help you gather evidence, draft formal notices, lodge complaints with the relevant authorities and, where necessary, represent you in mediation or tribunal hearings.

Legal Advice – Land

Our legal advisors assist with all land-related issues, from verifying tenure and navigating land-claim procedures to resolving boundary disputes. We explain your rights under land-reform legislation, help you prepare and submit claims, and liaise with traditional councils or government land offices on your behalf.

Advocacy – Children’s Rights

We champion the rights of children—ensuring access to birth registration, education and protection from exploitation. Our advocates engage with schools, social-welfare departments and family-court services to address neglect, abuse or access barriers, and work to secure supportive policies for orphans and vulnerable children.

Workshops – Equality and Non-Discrimination

Through interactive workshops, we educate communities about constitutional and statutory protections against discrimination. Sessions cover identifying discrimination in employment, services and public spaces, understanding legal recourse, and fostering inclusive attitudes. Workshops are delivered in local languages and tailored to community contexts.

Information Sharing & Dissemination – Domestic Violence & Victim Support

Our centre produces and distributes leaflets, posters and radio spots detailing victims’ rights, protection orders and support hotlines. We partner with local media and schools to ensure survivors know where and how to seek help, and we maintain a directory of safe-house and counselling services.

Network Building & Strengthening – Sexual & Gender-Based Violence

We convene multi-stakeholder forums—including survivor groups, health services, police and NGOs—to build referrals pathways and coordinate a community-wide response to SGBV. Through these networks, survivors gain rapid access to medical, legal and psychosocial support.

Lobbying – Education

By engaging policymakers and education authorities, we push for improved school infrastructure, reduced barriers to enrolment and funding for marginalized learners. We coordinate petitions, meetings and letters of demand to hold local education departments accountable for delivering quality schooling.

Law Reform – Crime Prevention

We draft and submit proposals to legislative committees and government departments aimed at strengthening crime-prevention laws. By providing community feedback and research on local crime trends, we advocate for measures—such as community policing forums and harsher penalties for violent offences—that reflect on-the-ground realities.

Social Security Support – Family Rights

Our advisors guide clients through applications for social grants (child support, disability, pension), help resolve payment disputes at SASSA pay points, and assist families in securing foster-care grants. We also advocate for timely disbursement and fair assessment of eligibility.

Rehabilitation & Reintegration – School Safety

Working with schools, social workers and community leaders, we facilitate the safe return of learners who have dropped out due to violence or neglect. Our programmes include safety audits, anti-bullying campaigns and support for at-risk youth to reintegrate into educational settings.

Alcohol & Drug Abuse – Black Sash Collaboration

In partnership with Black Sash, we run awareness sessions on the legal and social consequences of substance abuse. We support community-led prevention initiatives, facilitate referrals to rehabilitation centres and lobby for improved local treatment services.

Other Support – LGBTI Group & Illegal Deductions

We offer targeted legal advice to LGBTI individuals facing workplace discrimination or unfair salary deductions. Our team helps document illegal deductions, negotiate with employers and escalate cases to the CCMA or relevant tribunals for restitution.
